Here at Pedal Car Power, we aim to make
childhood experiences as enjoyable and safe as possible.
Here are a few basic safety
rules to consider and hopefully, make your child’s pedaling memories all happy
and safe ones:
Pedal Cars, Pedal Planes and
Tricycles
*Pedal Cars, Pedal Planes, Tricycles and most
Pedal Toys should only be used on hard flat surfaces. Please ensure they are
not used around unfenced pools, ponds or other sources of water as most are
all metal and quite heavy.
*Pedal Cars and Pedal Planes have
no brakes and are propelled solely by the child’s legs so, please, keep them
off hills and sloped driveways. Never push a child in a pedal car or allow
them to be pushed by another child or adult.
*Pedal cars, pedal trucks and pedal
planes all have open underbodies. It is imperative that you do not allow your
child to ride his/her pedal toy without the appropriate footwear. Shoes
should be worn at all times when pedaling. Little toes can so easily get
caught in the pedal mechanism. Please ensure your child’s shoe laces are
securely tied prior to riding his/her pedal toy.
Remember, loose clothing items
could also become tangled in the pedals. Long flowing Scarves pose an especially
great hazard.
*Pedal cars, Pedal planes,
tricycles and Big Wheels are all low to the ground and therefore not as
visible to adult drivers, so please supervise your child while enjoying their
pedal toy and ensure they keep them off the road.
Horses
*Toy rolling Horses need to be ridden on flat
surfaces only.
*Rolling Horses have no brakes
so please, no riding on hills, steep driveways etc.
Here at Pedal Car Power we hope to help
make very happy, lasting memories for your children and most of all make their
pedal toy experiences safe.
